An Indian TV presenter for nine years at Chhattisgarh’s private IBC-24 named Supreet Kaur had kept her composure during Saturday morning's live news bulletin as a reporter phoned indetails of a fatal accident, which had killed three of the five people travelling in a Renault Duster.
Kaur realised her husband, Harsad Kawade was likely to be one of those killed as he was meant to travel in a Renault Duster along the same route and at the same time with four companions.
It was only after the news hour when the TV presenter walked out of the TV studio and broke down.
Her colleague said: “She is an extremely brave lady. We are proud of her as an anchor, but what happened today has left us in shock."
A senior editor said her colleagues realised that her husband was dead while she was reading the news.
“But we did not tell her. We did not have the courage,” the editor explained.
