A video has emerged of a bloody and distraught United passenger in the midst of being dragged off by security after he refused to surrender his seat on an overbooked United Airlines flight in the US.
The 69-year old man is said to be a doctor and was pulled from his seat at Chicago's O'Hare Airport before the flight to Louisville, Kentucky.
Audra Bridges, a passenger, posted a short video showing uniformed security personnel pulling the screaming man in front of horrified passengers.
The passenger was seen injured, visibly upset, and kept on saying "Just kill me." Passengers aboard said the man injured himself when he hit his head on an armrest.
The man, who identified himself as a doctor said he needed to return to Louisville to see his patients.
According to Bridges: “Everyone was shocked and appalled.”
“There were several children on the flight as well that were very upset.”
The incident reportedly occurred after United overbooked the flight and needed four passengers to accept as much as an $800 voucher to take a different flight. After no passengers volunteered, the airline reportedly chose passengers at random and the said doctor was one of them.
In a video of the actual incident, one woman is heard saying: “Oh my God! What are you doing? “Look at what you did to him.”
