This young woman named Julie decided to try an experiment and expand her own personal limits. She decided to wear just body paint in public, and the people she encountered didn’t notice her as almost naked until she brought their attention to her painted attire.
Before the body paint session started, Julie admitted that she had issues with self-consciousness about her body for a long time. She believes her body image issues came from a classmate’s careless comment about Julie’s thighs after Julie had performed in a musical back in high school.
In this case, she was working with professional body painter Pashur House, who painted Julie in stonewashed jeans and a white T-shirt.
First, they covered her nipples with pasties, then an expert body paint job from house. They completed her casual look with a coat of sealant, and she strolled out into the public. When she told some of her friends she bumped into that she was only wearing paint, the result was surprise and laughter.
“I feel like I conquered a really huge fear that I’ve had,” Julie commented. “You feel naked or you feel all these negative things about yourself that no one else sees, and no one else understands.”
In the video, Julie said “Be strong and to not listen to what other people say and to not let it matter so much because it doesn’t. What matters inside is what counts the most, and that’s where your strength and your beauty comes from first.”
