Raffy Tima Was Not Able to Hide his Disappointment When Duterte 'Catcalled' His Wife Mariz Umali

GMA News anchor Raffy Tima took to social media to call out incoming President Rodrigo Duterte for “catcalling” his wife Mariz Umali.

This was happened in a press conference held by the team of Duterte, the president elect disrespected and catcalled GMA reporter Mariz Umali. He even sang “Malayo ang tingin” to Mariz, who found it rude. He just stopped when some of the people shouted she’s already married.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, June 1, Raffy wrote how he did not like how Duterte responded to Mariz when she asked him a question.Raffy was not able to hide his disappointment. He’s not at all shocked by Duterte’s action but he believes it is not still right to do that action.

According to Raffy: “For someone who espouses leadership by example, catcalling anyone in a press conference with all cameras trained on him defies logic. Then again, that’s Mayor Duterte.”

Mariz, on her part thanked her husband for defending her and admitted that she was also taken aback by Duterte’s response. According to her, she tried to understand Duterte and kept her composure amid the awkward situation.

Because of this, a lot of people reacted with the way Duterte portrayed women as object of desire.
